The Why U Mad? Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to helping students manage anger, develop emotional intelligence, and turn frustration into focus. Our 12-week school-based program is built on the proven SAMHSA Anger Management Model, and it’s changing the way young people in urban communities handle emotions, conflict, and self-expression.

Phase One: Baton Rouge Pilot Year

In our first year, the Why U Mad? Foundation will partner with the seven most at-risk schools in the Greater Baton Rouge area. These schools were selected based on community need, behavioral data, and demographics.

Each school will select ten students identified by counselors and administrators as most in need of anger management support and mentorship. These students will receive 12 weeks of hands-on emotional skills training, reflection work, and personal coaching.

At the end of the year, students who demonstrate measurable improvement in behavior and self-control will qualify for scholarships and recognition awards, funded directly by sponsors like you.
